Year 6

Welcome to The Hayfield School. We are incredibly proud of our community and cannot wait to welcome you to join us in September. Our shared values of kindness and decency and having a strong work ethic run through everything we do as a school, giving all our students an experience that goes far beyond the high academic standards we instil in the classroom.

The journey through secondary school is undoubtedly one of the most important, exciting and memorable phases in a person’s life; the time when youthful enthusiasm for learning sharpens into academic ambition; when society becomes wider and life-long friendships are formed. Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff are here to guide you through and celebrate your child’s success.

On Monday 11 July we will be hosting a Transition Evening for parents, carers and students where you will learn all about The Hayfield School with a school tour, presentations from our school leadership teams as well as meeting Group Tutors and, perhaps most importantly, finding out which House your child will represent throughout their time at The Hayfield School!

This event will take place at the start of Transition Week where your child will be invited up to school to take part in our 3 Transition Days on Tuesday 12, Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 July. We will be putting on fun and exciting lessons, sporting events and creative workshops to give Year 6 students a real taste of what it is like to study and learn at The Hayfield School. Our Year 7 Leadership Team, led by Mr Robertson, our Assistant Headteacher who oversees KS2-3 Transition and Miss Tomkins, our Year 7 Leader, will write to you with further details of these days at the start of June.
