We are delighted to invite you to our upcoming Opening Evening for Year 6 students and their parents and carers, taking place on Monday 27 September 2021.
Unfortunately, given the current context, the event will be significantly different to the open evenings we have enjoyed hosting in previous years. This year’s event will involve a tour of the school and the chance to find out about the range of subjects we offer in Year 7.
To minimise the risk to everyone involved in the evening, we will not be gathering for the usual main presentation from the Headteacher and members of the leadership team. The tour will be directed in a one-way circuit and we will stagger the arrival times (see below) to keep numbers to a comfortable level. Hand sanitation stations will be present prior to entry and face masks, although not compulsory, are recommended.
A virtual tour of the school and Headteacher’s presentation, with information about life at The Hayfield School is available for all prospective students and their parents/carers. Further information can be found by visiting our YouTube channel and our Twitter account, both of which give a flavour of the exceptional community we have at The Hayfield School: a community we are extremely proud of.
To support us in our aim to minimise the risk of transmission and keep numbers manageable we ask that only one adult per Year 6 child attends on the evening and ask that students from the following schools arrive at the times stated below:
5.00 – 6.00 pm – Auckley School, Bawtry Mayflower School, Branton St Wilfrid’s School
6.00 – 7.00 pm – Finningley St Oswald’s School, Hayfield Lane Primary School, All schools outside our catchment area
Like all secondary schools, we are in constant contact with Public Health England and in the event of a localised outbreak of cases, may need to postpone or cancel the evening at short notice. We will advertise any change to the planned event through our website so please check back at regular intervals.
