I am proud to welcome you to our website. The Hayfield School is a very popular and high achieving 11-16 school with academy status. Our School motto is simple and succinct in that we seek to promote Kindness, Decency and Strong Work Ethic. These are central to our culture and ethos, and professionals work hard to instil these values into our young people in order to prepare them for adulthood and the world of work.
As Headteacher of The Hayfield School, I am ambitious for our children and young people. I want them to make great progress from whatever their starting points and to leave us ready, equipped and prepared for the next stage in their education, employment or training. Equally, I want them to be prepared for life in modern Britain by appreciating our shared values, celebrating and embracing difference and being able to take personal responsibility for their actions.
Whilst our school days are about hard work, perseverance and self-discipline, I am passionate that young people leave with fond memories of their time with us. Of course, for many children their route through school is not always straightforward and there may be occasions when they need guiding ‘back on track’. It’s part of growing up. That aside, we want them to feel a sense of community and belonging, of personal pride, of making friends for life and of having some fun along the way. The House System along with our extensive extra-curricular programme provide a fantastic outlet for students to experience all these things and more besides.
Of course, great schools do not happen by chance! They come about and thrive when professionals and families work in close partnership to support and encourage young people. At The Hayfield School, we value this partnership and work hard to ensure that parents and carers are well informed about their child’s academic progress and personal development.
